Match-up returns to Number One Stadium in the World for first time since 2010

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – November 3, 2016 – Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk and MetLife Stadium President and CEO Ron VanDeVeen announced today that the 2020 Navy-Notre Dame game will be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on Saturday, Sept. 5.

“We are excited to return to MetLife Stadium, one of the finest venues in North America, for the 2020 Navy-Notre Dame game,” said Gladchuk. “It will make for a great weekend of sightseeing in New York City and watching the longest continuous intersectional rivalry in all of college football. Our last trip to MetLife Stadium in 2010 was a memorable one.”

The 2020 game will mark the fourth appearance for Notre Dame and the second for Navy at MetLife Stadium. The Midshipman defeated Notre Dame, 35-17, in MetLife Stadium’s inaugural season in 2010.

“We are thrilled to bring the rich history of the Navy-Notre Dame game back to MetLife Stadium,” said VanDeVeen. “We are honored to have earned their trust to deliver a first-class venue experience for this exceptional rivalry.”

Navy and Notre Dame will meet for the 90th consecutive year this Saturday in Jacksonville. Notre Dame leads the all-time series, 76-12-1, and has won five straight against Navy.

Ticket information for the 2020 game will be released at a later date.
