New York City, Press Releases

NEW YORK, September 7, 2016 — American Express today announced the recent appointment of Nancy Testa as the chief diversity officer, overseeing the company’s global diversity and inclusion efforts. She will also continue to serve as vice president and HR business partner for the Global Merchant Services & Loyalty Group.

As chief diversity officer, Testa will be responsible for ensuring American Express remains an employer of choice among top diverse talent and enables innovation by continuing to develop an inclusive and collaborative work environment.

“Nancy is a long-time champion of fostering diverse talent and different perspectives as a means to find the best solutions for our company and customers,” said Kevin Cox, chief human resources officer, American Express. “As an executive with a wealth of global leadership and talent management experience, she is ideally suited to help us continue developing best practices and impactful programs, across diversity and inclusion, to drive business results.”

“I am thrilled to take the reins of our long-standing diversity and inclusion program,” said Testa. “I find our ability to scale global strategies and apply them locally, in relevant and impactful ways to be most exciting – it will allow us to continue attracting and retaining diverse talent, as well as reinforce our commitment to helping our employees develop the skills they need to thrive at American Express.”

In addition to the Global Diversity and Inclusion team, which Testa leads, American Express has active employee networks with nearly 100 chapters globally, working to promote a culture of inclusion, increase employee engagement and provide development opportunities to help employees advance throughout the organization.
