Pedram Afshar joins New York Life as head of service
NEW YORK, June 29, 2016—New York Life has named Pedram Afshar senior vice president and head of service for the companys Insurance and Agency Group. In this role, he is in charge of providing a superior experience for our policyholders through engaging and satisfying customer service. He reports to New York Life’s President and Chief Investment Officer, John Kim.
With nearly 20 years of experience improving customer service and experience, Afshar joins New York Life from Best Buy, where he was vice president responsible for the company’s enterprise customer experience operation. Prior to Best Buy, he held senior roles in customer experience areas of Capital One and American Century Investments. Additionally, he has held various roles of increasing scope in member experience working for the United Services Automobile Association, where he was part of that company’s transformation, from a traditional multi-line insurer to a digitally based customer centric organization.
Afshar holds a MBA and Bachelor of Business Administration degree from University of Texas at San Antonio. He and his family currently reside in New York, NY.
