Staying true to its pretty-with-an-edge vibe, the store’s decor is a blend of raw metal, warm tones of wood, grey and teal, patterned tile, and screens that are modern, light and magically translucent. The new outlet store will provide the consumer with an easy and affordable way to get that special kensie look.
Eric Karls, President of kensie, commented on the announcement: “We are thrilled to have opened our kensie outlet in one of the centers in the Premium Outlets® portfolio of Simon Property Group. The apparel is positive and playful in spirit, as is the modern yet raw space that provides the perfect backdrop for the merchandise.”
“This is great fit for the center, which is a popular shopping destination for area residents as well as visitors from around the world. Our shoppers seek the latest looks at great value. We’re confident that they will be excited with the addition of kensie,” noted Mark Sejd, General Manager, Chicago Premium Outlets.
Kensie is all about feminine pretty clothes dressing the current mood. It is designed and operated by Vancouver-based founders Eric and Lani Karls, who launched onto the scene with Mac & Jac in 1994, followed by Kensie and Kensiegirl. In 2006 the brands were purchased by Liz Claiborne Inc. All three brands are sold internationally at department and specialty stores.
