Bob Timberlake has taken the palette and capabilities that Century Furniture offers and created a collection that expands on his unique sensibilities and passion for all things comfortable. From the design to the craftsmanship, all ninety plus pieces in the initial launch with Century showcase the casual elegance for which Bob Timberlake is known. It is a collection that surprises in its range and scope. As much storyteller as artist, each of Mr. Timberlake's pieces speak of the people and places in his life. From the Chadd's Ford Dining Table, named for the place that encouraged his career as an artist, to Kay's Chair, designed as a reading chair for a grandmother to be able to read to her grandchildren, the Bob Timberlake Home Collection invites us into a lifestyle that is based on heritage, family and traditions
The wood furniture designs range from European antiques to early Americana. Walnut and Alder solids mix throughout the collection to bring depth and character to the wood. Shown in the Heritage finish, a rich, warm brown with hand distressing that gives each piece the feeling of age, Century also utilizes their palette of paint finishes to play up accents and add a bit of unexpected to the rooms. A deeper distressing option, Vintage, is also available on the Home Collection pieces
The upholstery showcases Mr. Timberlake's eye for texture and layering. These pieces delight and surprise with the combination of materials and placements. Combining distressed leather, corduroy and waxed cotton on one chair, it's almost as if a Barbour jacket transformed into a comfortable club chair. The range of fabrics stems hunt club and high country as well as quiet gardens and neutral coastal palettes.
—The focus squarely on places that speak of relaxation and comfort.
